So what makes a good Green Belt Project?

  1. Choose a problem in your work environment that is aligned with current business issues; this can be a project you have already been assigned or one you create in response to a problem you are currently dealing with.
  2. The solution to the problem is not evident. You do not know how to solve the problem.
  3. It should be possible to complete the project within 3-6 months.
  4. The process needs to cycle often; you will need to observe the process happening frequently within the next few months.
  5. You are the project manager.  You also need a project sponsor (your manager/executive/etc.) that is committed to project success.
